Audio and video (audio-visual) content is used extensively for online media platforms as well as for traditional television and radio broadcasting.There is always a demand for professionals who can produce interesting and meaningful audio and audio-visual content in different genres like news and current affairs, entertainment, infotainment, education,edutainment, etc.M.A. in Journalism and Electronic Media will help you to learn and upgrade your skills in journalism, audio and audio-visual programme production. It is also an opportunity for working professionals to enhance and update their knowledge and to obtain a formal degree for it.

Programme Objectives:

To impart the necessary knowledge and skills for print, television, radio and online journalism

To equip learners with the required knowledge and skills to produce audio programmes for radio broadcasting or podcasting

To provide knowledge and skills about digital photography and videography

To expose the learners to different aspects of audio-visual programme production

To acquaint the learners with the interrelationships between media and society

The MAJEM programme is modular in nature in which to earn 72 credits, the learner will have to complete 36credits each year. There is a provision for exit for those who do not wish to continue after one year andsuch students shall be awarded Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism & Mass Communication (PGJMC). Lateral Entry option to the 2nd year of MAJEM is available to those who have completed PGJMC (Revised) from IGNOU on offer since January 2020.
